Your Chickens - - Chickpix -

Your chickens are probably in bed long before you are now. They don’t see very well at night and like to be safely on their perches before it gets dark. This gives you a chance to study their bedtime habits. Who always goes into the henhouse first? Which chickens like to sit together? You will notice that the bossiest chickens sit on the highest perch — that’s where they feel the safest. The more timid hens might even end up on the floor. There may be a few arguments about who goes where, but then they will all settle down and go to sleep. Once it’s dark, they will be relaxed and easy to handle if you need to, but don’t disturb them unless it’s totally necessary. Just make sure that all the henhouse doors are tightly shut to keep them safe until the morning. Goodnight chickens. Sweet dreams…
