JULIAN NORTON, the popular star of Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet, has revealed his unusual treatment for sinusitis in chickens.

In his regular column for The Yorkshire Post, the TV star and author suggests that in addition to the traditional routes of medication, affected birds would benefit from some time in a steam room.

Mr Norton came up with the idea after seeing birds with sinusitis so severe that their eyes were glued shut with gunk, pus and mucous.

His unconventional treatment involves bringing affected birds into the house and creating a makeshift steam room in the bathroom by turning the shower on hot and then allowing the steam to relieve the problem enough for the birds’ eyes to reopen.
