FORCE CRACKS DOWN ON DOG THEFT

-

Following the appointment of Chief Inspector Amy Styles-Jones as a dedicated dog theft lead within Nottinghamshire Police (‘Stop Thief!’, May issue), Devon and Cornwall Police has followed suit.

Chief Inspector Rob Curtis has been assigned with tackling pet theft across both counties and is keen to reassure local people that the force is taking the issue seriously.

“Be careful of bogus callers or displaying signs that say ‘My Poodle lives here’,” advised Chief Inspector Curtis, who is urging all owners to ensure their dogs are microchipped and all contact details are up-to-date.

In addition, the force now possesses 30 microchip scanners, some of which have been donated by DogLost.
