WHY DO SOME DOGS BOND MOST STRONGLY WITH ONLY ONE PERSON IN A FAMILY?
Many dogs bond most with whoever is their primary carer during their key socialisation period. However, sometimes a dog will favour someone who isn’t the primary care-giver. This may be because the dog’s breed and the human’s personality are particularly compatible, because the person is a source of good stuff and therefore positive associations, or because the person gives them the most attention.
