Preserve jar, 500ml (with two-piece screw top) Paper map Card, 8 x

8cm Scissors Craft knife and cutting board PVA glue Paintbrush Kraft card Hole punch Black pen Twine

1 Glue a small section of the map onto card and allow to dry. Use the inner flat part of the lid to draw a circle onto the back of the card. Cut out a 0.8 x 4cm rectangle from the centre of the circle using a craft knife and cutting board and then cut out the circle.

2 Cut off any border from the map and trim so that the map measures 14 x 30cm. Snip 2cm slits into the top and bottom edges at 1cm intervals. Dilute the PVA glue until it reaches a single cream consistency. Paint the jar generously with diluted glue then stick the map in place. Apply more glue to the outside, pressing the map to the jar with a paintbrush. The map should overlap along the curves where you placed the slits. Allow to dry fully.

3 Place the card circle on top of the jar then screw on the outer rim part of the lid. Make a label from card using scissors and a hole punch. Write on your message then tie to the jar with twine, to finish.
