Turn over to shop flooring that is underfloor-heating compatible!

Underfloor heating is seamless design feature, and installing it is simpler than you might think as it comes pre-spaced and ready to attach. As well as adding extra warmth to your home, it’s also a great way of freeing up wall space for more artwork or shelves! There are two types of underfloor heating available: electric and water. Emma Wills, Category Manager at B&Q , explains more about both options, ‘Electric underfloor heating is available as either a heated mat or heating cablebased system. This type of system is favourable for renovation projects in particular as it doesn’t significantly increase floor height and is simpler to install, however it costs more money to run than a wet system. Wet underfloor heating involves a heat source (a traditional boiler or heat pump) through underfloor heating pipes, which are laid within or on top of the subfloor beneath your floor finish. This type of system is much more expensive to install however it’s significantly less expensive in terms of running costs and is more reliable in the long term. Make sure you seek advice from a manufacturer before you choose, as you want to ensure the specific floor product will not be damaged by the heating system.’
