STEP INSIDE...
WHO LIVES HERE? I’m Louise Ritchie, 49, a naturopathic nutritionist at Louise Ritchie Nutrition. I live with my husband Graeme, 53, a chartered surveyor, our two boys, Elliot, 16, and Alexander, 11, and our cockapoo, Daisy. We’ve lived in a fourbedroom, Victorian semi in Bristol since September 2015.
WHAT WAS UPDATED? The main bedroom had never really been given much thought or attention and felt bland and un-loved. I wanted to make it into a space that was welcoming for night and day.
WHY THE CHANGE? I needed to find a space where I could work and this was the obvious choice as the desk was already in here, but I had to think about how to avoid it looking too much like a functional office space as it’s still a bedroom.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE? It took a couple of weeks of thinking time while I decided what the room needed to take it from work to sleep, and then the actual decorating only took half a day, though the faffing will probably take forever!
