Wren Kitchens created a space our whole family could enjoy
Keen to create a space to spend quality time with her family, Jay turned to Wren Kitchens to help her dreams of a versatile, stylish kitchen become a reality
There’s no doubt about it; the kitchen needs to work harder than any other room in our home. Whether it’s Zoom meetings at the breakfast bar, keeping an eye on the little ones while making dinner or having the whole gang round for a weekend brunch, our kitchens have become so much more than just a place where we cook. Wren understands just how versatile we need our kitchens to be. No matter the size or layout of your space, its expert team will work closely with you to create a beautiful, functional space that suits you and your family’s lifestyle.
To see how Wren collaborates with its customers to create tailor-made designs, take a look at project manager Jay’s kitchen transformation. Her home is part of the #wrenovation series, which shines a spotlight on real customer kitchen renovations.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY SPACE
When Jay, her husband and two children moved into their Coventry home, the small kitchen wasn’t even big enough to fit the whole family. Wanting enough space for the four of them to be in the kitchen together, while able to do their own thing, a kitchen extension was top of the to-do list. Jay visited her local Wren Kitchens showroom after a friend, who was also renovating, recommended the company.
As soon as Jay saw the variety of styles, colours and options on offer, she knew she’d find her dream kitchen at Wren. Jay originally planned to go for a Shaker style, but once she saw the contemporary Milano range in the showroom, she fell in love with the modern design. For a stylish, designer-style look, she chose speckled worktops and handleless cabinets in striking Castle Rock framed with glistening gold accents. ‘I’m super happy with the colour,’ Jay says.
‘It looks different depending on the lights and time of day and it gets lots of compliments.’
ON THE WISH LIST
The couple’s kitchen must haves included a second sink on the island, where the children could wash veggies, and extra worktop space to avoid clutter. Their Wren Designer, Pushp Chand, was more than happy to accommodate any wish-list items, and suggested features the couple hadn’t considered before, including the bespoke adaptable corner unit and integrated microwave to free up worktop space, helping the couple get the most out of their kitchen. As they love to entertain family and friends, making their kitchen a sociable space was a top priority. With this in mind, the impressive waterfall island was fitted with a seamless NEFF induction hob, allowing the couple to easily chat to guests while cooking.
HEART OF THE HOME
From the unbeatable quality, to the fantastic collaboration with designers and seamless delivery service, Jay and her husband were delighted with their Wren experience from start to finish.
With their dream kitchen now in place, the family’s day-to-day lives have been transformed. Jay can now take meetings, keep an eye on the children while they do their homework, and host dinner parties for their friends and family, all from the multifunctional space. ‘My kitchen definitely has the wow factor,’ says Jay. ‘It’s become the hub of the house.’
