MAXIMISE WALL SPACE to keep the floor clutter-free in a box room like mine. I installed a wide shelf running the length of the room, and a narrower shelf above the panelling.

BOOST THE STORAGE with baskets under the bed and on shelving. Footstools that can double up as side tables, and ladders for throws and towels, are great space-savers as well.

HANG VOILE CURTAINS for a light, breezy look, instead of heavy ones that will overpower the room and make a small space feel even smaller. Combine with a blind so it’s still practical, too.
