SHOPPING LIST

Melt & Pour soap base, 1kg Lavender scent Dried lavender, all Hobbycraft Soap colouring set, Amazon Knife Bowl Plastic kitchen film Plastic container for mould Spoon Brown paper String

1 Remove half the soap base from the container. Cut it into equally sized small pieces. Place the pieces in a heatproof bowl and cover tightly with plastic kitchen film. Heat in a microwave for 2 minutes or until melted. Add a few drops of lavender scent – start with a little, you can always add more if needed. Drop in a little colouring if you wish (optional).

2 Carefully pour the soap into a mould, a plastic food box is ideal, we used an empty margarine tub. Stir the soap gently to remove any air bubbles. Top with a layer of dried ingredients, we opted for lavender and oats. Gently push the dry ingredients down into the soap. Leave to set, preferably overnight.

3 Remove the soap bar from the mould and cut it into handily sized slices. For a pretty detail, wrap each bar with a strip of brown paper tied with length of natural string. Present the soap in a box and scatter in some leftover dried flowers for extra flair.
