STEP INSIDE...
WHO LIVES HERE? Beam Irwin, 34, an interior stylist (@aplacetogether and @bloomsbybeam) and my husband, Christian, 39, an IT specialist. We’ve lived in our threebedroom, semi-detached, 1940s home since May 2019.
WHAT WAS UPDATED? I painted the tiles, covered the worktops in vinyl, overhauled the existing units with a new colour, and hand-drew a geometric pattern on the floor.
WHY THE CHANGE? The kitchen was in good condition, but the décor was dark, grey and gloomy. I wanted to brighten it up to make the most of the light coming in from its big window.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE? It took us four weeks, working around when we needed to use the room.
