Unveil the truth with SyncEquine
Discover a non-invasive imaging service that assists lameness investigation, and could help you get to the bottom of your horse’s niggling performance issues
EVER WONDERED IF a change in your horse’s behaviour or a reluctance to perform is due to pain? Or has your horse been struggling with a non-specific, low-grade or difficult to diagnose lameness? If so, the team at SyncEquine may be able to help. Specialising in clinical standard physiological imaging (more commonly known as thermography) SyncEquine works in conjunction with vets to support investigation and to assist diagnosis. The service is used by many vet practices to identify pathology and localise areas of autonomic dysfunction. As the technology doesn’t require sedation it can be a good place to start before further investigation. Spinal conditions, arthritis and the early stages of injury and disease can all be identifified by using the technology – this is done by isolating areas of abnormality so that further tests can be performed. Being relatively low-cost, noninvasive and easy to perform also makes thermography a popular imaging choice for full body assessments.
Using SyncEquine’s service
Using thermography for your horse is 100% safe and doesn’t require sedation. Travelling horses is minimised as the team can visit your yard if your environment is suitable for imaging. Clients also have the option of taking their horse to a local veterinary clinic. Appointments can be booked direct or via your veterinary surgeon and normally take up to one hour and 30 minutes for a full body assessment. A national service is provided and the cost of imaging may be covered by insurance if you are referred by your vet.
Technology and results
SyncEquine only uses clinical grade imaging equipment and all of their results are provided by their team of experienced veterinary surgeons. Having your horse’s results interpreted and reported on by trained veterinary surgeons is critical as it ensures previous and current clinical signs are taken into consideration and reports can scientififically contribute to the investigation. When using thermography for your horse many aspects have to come together to achieve accurate results. SyncEquine provides a quality controlled service and ensures the correct protocols, clinical technology and aftercare are provided as standard.
