Your Horse (UK)

A horse! Don’t miss your chance to enter

The closing date is in sight, but there’s still time to enter this year’s competition. Here are 5 good reasons why you should

-

1 5k goes a long way We’ll be giving the winner of our Your Horse competition £5,000 to pay for, or put towards, their dream horse. Now this isn’t like bunging someone a fiver… it’s 5k people, and that amount of money goes a long way. Not convinced? Here’s proof. Our 2016 winner Lauren Butchart found her awesome pony Grouse (right) earlier this year. This Highland dude hasn’t put a foot wrong since the day she brought him home and their partnership is going from strength to strength all the time. In 2015, Liz Jones found her Western wonder pony in Flint (below) and, having entered the competition with dreams of moving up the levels in show jumping, she made the brave decision to branch out into a brand new discipline after she’d won. You see, this competition makes dreams a reality and, at the end of a the day, who else is going to give you £5,000 towards your ideal horse?

2 Think of us as your horse-buying guardians First of all, let’s get one thing straight. While our competition is called Win a Horse, we’re not just going to hand one over. We don’t have a pre-vetted, schoolmaster waiting in the wings to be tied in a bow, popped on a lorry and driven to your yard. However, what we can guarantee (and a very good reason to enter) is that the Your Horse team will help and guide you until you find a horse that’s safe, sound and perfect for you. While you search for your perfect partner, we’ll be on the end of a phone and picking up your emails, giving you the support you need to find the right one – and we’ll come to see the horse before you agree to buy. Sellers beware – we can smell dodgy deals a mile off and we want only the best for our winner, so don’t even think about trying anything funny. 3 The journey itself is fun Being part of the Win a Horse competition experience has been described as ‘amazing, ‘inspiring’ and even ‘life-changing’. The semi-final process, which involves a day of training at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre in Gloucestershire, has given many semifinalists the confidence to go further in their riding and to try things they’d never dreamed they could do. It’s also a chance to be part of something exciting with a group of like-minded people that very few others will ever get to experience. Make it to the semis and you’ll become one of a small group of people who can ever say they have. 4 Once you find the one, it’s full steam ahead Over the years we’ve helped lots of people to buy their dream horse and every time, when they found the horse they wanted to buy, they always asked the same thing, ‘how do I go about paying for it?’. The joy of modern technology means we can have the money in your account in days, then you’re free to pay for you horse yourself. It’s as simple as that. 5 We’ll get you off to an awesome start With the help of our generous sponsors you’ll not only win a horse, you’ll also walk away with a range of rugs and goodies from Horseware, a new Champion riding hat, a Wintec saddle, feed vouchers and nutritional support from the team at Dengie, £500 to spend with Country & Stable and an awesome HitAir air vest, which you can read more about over the page. All these prizes have been selected to get you and your horse off to a great start… it doesn’t hurt that they’re all fab, too!
