“I wouldn’t be able to do it without her”
“My mum gave up horses to have four children and didn’t go back to it until we were well into our teens,” says Stephanie Laurence. “I started riding properly in my twenties and at that point we decided to get a horse to share together. At around the same time, I had my first child, so I have to thank my mum for giving me the opportunity to have a family and a horse at the same time, a privilege she never had. I wouldn’t be able to do it without her, all the poo-picking on cold rainy days, all the riding when I’ve not been able to and looking after grandchildren so I can enjoy a lovely, quiet ride. Thanks mum!”
