3 TOP TRAINING TIPS FROM AMY
1 Before getting on your horse, set yourself a goal that you’d like to achieve by the end of the schooling session and a short plan of how you’re going to achieve it. This way your training sessions are always constructive.
2 Don’t give your horse a day off before competing. This puts him in the wrong frame of mind (he’ll think it’s another rest day) and this is when contact evasions could creep in – definitely not the best time for them to happen!
3 Don’t forget that it’s not all about your horse. Make sure you’re in good shape with a strong core so you can help him do the job you’re asking him to do. Pilates can really help.
