IT’S THE PERFECT PICTURE: rolling countryside ahead of you, glorious sunshine, clear skies and only two of you there to indulge in it — you and your horse. Or perhaps you prefer to ride out with your friends and family. Either way, what better way to explore the British countryside than on a horse? So make the decision now to take a step back from day-to-day life and clear your mind, enjoy the fresh air plus have an unlimited amount of fun. You might even find a new best place to explore. You’re in good company, because most of the top riders we strive to emulate as they succeed at the highest levels enjoy hacking too. Multi-Olympic eventing medallists Mary King and Pippa Funnell, plus showing star Jayne Ross and dressage legend Charlotte Dujardin, are just a few who hack regularly — more on that in a future issue.
