CHANGING THE BHA’S DECISION

Your Horse (UK) - - The Your Horse Interview -

1 USING A TOECAP STIRRUP

“Being prosthetic, my foot doesn’t bend,” says Guy. “With the toecap, my foot can only come out backwards, so it can’t get stuck.”

2 PROPRIOCEPTION

“Proprioception means you can close your eyes and still touch your nose because you feel where it is. I showed that although I don’t have a foot I can feel my knee in the same way and I know what my lower leg is doing.”

3 VIDEOING ON THE GALLOPS

“I was filmed riding at speed, taking my foot out of the stirrup and putting it back in again.”

These three things proved to the BHA that Guy knew exactly what his lower right leg was doing at all times.
