How riders affect the way horses move

WOW Saddles, one of the sponsors of Your Horse Live, will be sharing the results of its recent pressure test trials that prove the impact we have on our horses’ way of going. This is sure to be a thoughtprovoking talk and one not to miss. It will also highlight the importance of having a correctly fitted saddle that is comfortable for both you and your horse.

An audience with…

Throughout the weekend you’ll have the chance to quiz the celebrities starring at this year’s show. If you’ve always wanted to ask showjumper Geoff Billington a question, or maybe you’d like some advice from eventing legend Mary King, this is your opportunity to ask them. You could even ask Spanish Riding School supremo Florian Bacher what it’s like to train with Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin! There’ll be different panels of celebrities over the three days of the show, so get thinking about the questions you’ve always wanted to know the answers to.

Learn more about the BHS

The British Horse Society (BHS) is the largest equestrian charity in the UK and 2018 is its 70th birthday. As well as celebrating everything this charity has achieved over its lifetime, the BHS team will be talking about the charity’s current campaigns and be ready to answer your questions. Perhaps you’re keen to pursue a career with horses, or maybe you want to learn more about road safety campaigns.

Boost your confidence in the saddle

Helen Rennie from Rezone Coaching will be with us on Friday. Helen’s rider confidence strategies and simple techniques will help you overcome any confidence issues you may be having.

Ease your feeding worries

Friday marks the launch of Feed Awareness Week and Claire Williams from the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) will be talking about all things feed related. Plus, over the rest of the weekend, experts from Baileys Horse Feeds will be on hand to help you understand more about this often over-complicated topic.

Need some equine legal advice?

A regular in Your Horse magazine’s ‘Ask The Experts’ section (p95), solicitor Rebecca Stojak will talk us through her top 10 most commonly asked questions. Rebecca will cover topics such as buying a horse, taking out insurance and much more. If you have a legal dilemma make time to pop along and see her.

Complementary therapy

Make sure you plan in time to attend one of our vet talks with Anna Honner BVetMed MRCVS, from 608 Equine & Farm vets, who will discuss the benefits of equine acupuncture. This is the traditional Chinese therapy that places thin needles into certain points of a horse’s body and can have great effects.
