RIDER OF THE YEAR

Charlotte Seth, Haworth RDA

Charlotte has Joberts Syndrome, with balance and coordination problems and issues with motor skills. When she started riding with the RDA she was wheelchair bound, needed to be lifted onto the pony and couldn’t talk. Initially she needed a team of three to help her, as poor core strength meant she was unable to sit upright and needed side walker support and a leader. Charlotte is a very determined young person and has made some amazing improvements. She can now mount with support, hold herself on the pony, sit upright and walk with just the aid of a walker. She makes glass jewellery and every year has a stand at the RDA Christmas fair with her own label ‘Charlotte’s lovely things’.
