Your Horse (UK)

2 STRAIGHT TALKING

-

Keeping your horse straight on the approach to a fence is more important than the height of the fence you’re jumping. Focus on straightness and encouraging your horse to go into the fences in a forward, yet relaxed state of mind. This requires consistent riding from you, as you may find your horse likes to take a wobbly line into his fences to begin with. Keep your horse straight by using your legs to channel his body in a straight line. If you’re sitting in a good position in the saddle, and looking up and ahead at where you want to go, it will really help to keep your horse straight.
