To begin with, it’s all about teaching your horse the foundations, so start with small, simple fences to build up his confidence. Jumping a simple upright fence with an inviting groundline will help to teach your horse to jump with confidence. When he feels happy, you can move onto a slightly bigger fence. Start work on getting the correct landing leg by turning your body in mid-air and looking towards the line you’ll be taking to your next fence. It’s all good education.
