Young horses tire easily, both physically and mentally, so don’t overdo it. Pushing a young horse too soon can damage his confidence, so be mindful of this when training. Jumping your horse requires different muscle groups to those used on the flat, so allow your horse time to both warm up correctly and cool down. Keep your jumping sessions short and build up gradually.
