Releasing tension

-

QMy friend has something called the Masterson Method used on her horse. What is it? Sarah Warner, Chandlers Ford Mary says... The Masterson Method is a unique type of bodywork where the horse is part of the team we create. We work on the four main junctions in the horse’s body — the poll, withers, lumbar and sacral areas — and create more movement in the joints when the horse is in a relaxed state. As we work around the body, the horse will give subtle signs when we reach an area of tension — a blink or lip quiver — and we’ll focus on that place. Most importantly, we soften our touch so the horse cannot brace or block it out. We wait until the eye softens before stepping back to allow the horse to process and then release the tension. This is indicated by a lick, chew or yawn. It is important that the horse is allowed time to do this.
