Turning dull into dazzling

-

QI like to clip my horse because he’s in regular work all winter. However, I find his coat looks dull and scurfy afterwards. What can I do? Rhea Parsons, Aston Rowant Jenny says... A rubber curry comb used in a circular motion over your horse’s major muscle masses, such as his quarters, is a great way to improve a dull coat. Then use a soft brush, following the direction of hair growth. Next, use a body brush in circular movements over your horse’s whole body, then finish off the process by brushing in the direction of his coat. You can also use a body brush on your horse’s legs. There’s a great saying I go by, which is “look after the inside and the outside will look after itself”. With this in mind, have a look at what you’re feeding your horse and maybe try him on a balancer, as he could well be lacking in some vital nutrients. Contact a nutritionist for more help with improving a dull coat.
