Q&A then and now

It seems that some of the issues facing horse owners haven’t changed over the years, with the first-ever Q & A section (right) being mostly about laminitis. Readers of the day appreciated pictures that showed exactly how laminitis affected the hooves, but they’re not so easy to decipher in black and white. There’s a lot of talk about administrating purgatives, which we had to look up! It means laxative. We may cover some of the same topics in 2018 (below), but much of the advice has changed with the development of better diagnostic equipment and more effective treatments. Owners and riders are more knowledgeable these days too.
