All bitless bridles should have the noseband two fingers below the projecting cheekbone and with at least two fingers between the noseband and the nasal bone. Fitting the noseband too low can impinge on the softer, cartilaginous portion of the nose. Try pinching the tip of your nose and wiggling it from side to side, then do the same at the bridge of your nose. This is how the pressure would differ for your horse when wearing a bitless bridle.
