Keeping seniors young at heart

-

Sarah Dyett is wondering if she needs a specialist senior feed for her elderly cob Mandy, who is starting to show her age. Sarah says that at a grand age of 31, Mandy is showing slight signs of stiffness and is finding it harder to hold her condition. Sarah takes Mandy for a short hack two or three times a week to maintain the mare’s muscle tone because, as Sarah explains, “they both love getting out and about”. Sarah says she has started feeding Mandy a scoop of basic cubes twice a day, but she’s a fussy eater and tends not to finish the bowl. She doesn’t usually finish her hay either. While Mandy is doing well for her age, it certainly sounds as if she would benefit from an appetising senior feed rather than a basic cube, with added joint support to help her stiffness and digestive support for her gut health. Sarah should also consider a forage alternative such as a short-chop hay replacer if Mandy continues not to eat her hay ration. New SPILLERS® Senior Complete Care Mix helps to keep precious seniors young at heart by supporting joints and digestion. It includes glucosamine and MSM for joints and pro and prebiotics to help support gut health, together with an irresistibly appetising blend of real herbs to encourage fussy feeders to tuck in.
