How much fibre should I feed?

-

All horses and ponies, even those that need to lose weight, should eat 1.5% of their bodyweight on a dry matter basis every day. For a 600kg horse, this would equate to 9kg of dry matter. It’s far better to feed more of a low-calorie forage for good doers, than less of a highcalorie one, so finding the right forage is key.
