A licence to dance
“There are three levels of music licensing,” says Kelly. “If you are a BD member you’re licensed to use any music that is published as part of your membership.
“If you go to a professional music producer, check that they have a limited manufacture licence with MCPS (the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society) as this allows them to use any published music for your arrangements, and then every venue your music is played at will have a public performance licence to enable them to be able to play it in public.”
The days of having to choose licence-free music are over; you can ride to pretty much whatever you can hear.
