ICELAND IS GOING PLASTIC-FREE BY 2023
The supermarket chain has already begun the move with the launch of two new ready meal ranges available in paper and pulp trays. 200 MPs have now written to the other supermarkets asking them to follow suit.
WATER ON TAP
Thanks to a new scheme, we’ll soon be able to refill water bottles free of charge in thousands of shops, cafés, businesses and water fountains in England.
THE LAST STRAW
Pizza Express, Wetherspoon’s, Costa, Bill’s, Wagamama, Bar One and Gail’s Bakery are among the food chains withdrawing plastic straws from their stores.
TAKING THE PLEDGE
Bottled water company Evian have pledged to make all the 1.8billion bottles it produces every year from recycled plastic by 2025.
COFFEE CUP LEVY
