Side leg raises

Im­prove your bal­ance by work­ing your hips and but­tock mus­cles.

■ Stand side-on with one hand rest­ing on your kitchen work­top, feet hip­width apart and your other hand by your side.

■ Slowly lift the leg fur­thest from the work­top out to the side, pause, then slowly lower to the floor. Re­peat ten times. Turn and re­peat with the other leg.
