Eat yourself stronger
You can’t build muscle without eating protein. As you get older you actually need to eat more protein, but most of us eat less. “Protein helps you build muscle but it’s also important for keeping your immune system healthy and helps your body heal faster from injury,” says Julie. “It’s best to include protein in every meal throughout the day.” Have eggs for breakfast instead of toast and jam, a chicken salad or sandwich for lunch and some fish and vegetables for dinner. If you’re vegetarian, make sure you eat plenty of beans and pulses and always serve them with a wholegrain such as brown rice to make sure your body gets all the protein you need.
