Omo memories

YOURS (UK) - - Meeting Place - Mrs Howard, Dagenham V Chick, Brighton

■ Does anyone remember the Omo man? Back in the Sixties, dressed in a white suit, he used to travel around the country knocking on people’s doors! And if you could produce a packet of Omo washing powder from your kitchen cupboard he’d give you some money. He knocked on my door once and I produced a box of Persil Soap Flakes so he gave me a voucher towards an Omo wash! ■ I remember a competition about 40 years ago where someone would call at your house to ask a question about Omo. I’m not sure what the question was but I know I had practised the answer which was probably, ‘adds brightness to whiteness’ Well somehow I got the question wrong and didn’t win the prize – that was probably a packet of Omo!
