■ I was surprised to read about women preferring simple perfume bottles and unisex fragrances in the What’s All The Fuss About column. To me, an attractive, unusual bottle is part of the unique charm associated with choosing and wearing a gorgeous scent. Who can forget the mystery of Evening in Paris, with its midnight blue bottle or the ‘crystal’ stopper of the exquisite Lalique doves decorating one of my favourites, L’Air Du Temps? Other stunning examples include the ruby glass of Red Door from Elizabeth Arden. There are some many others too, without them how dull our dressing tables would be. Do other readers agree?
