I couldn’t believe it. I’d sprayed an annoying fly in my kitchen several times and it was still around. Then I realised I’d picked up a can of Mr Sheen instead of the fly killer – resulting in a highly polished fly.

The other day I was shelling some fresh peas and broad beans for my dinner and went out to throw the shells in the green bin. When I got back into the kitchen I saw the pile of discarded shells staring right back at me. I’d put the beans and peas in the bin instead!
