A special scanner that’s changing lives
Upright scanners are generally only available in private clinics in the UK. However, they do accept NHS patients who have been referred by their GP or hospital consultant because they cannot tolerate a traditional scan. In these cases, the GP or consultant can apply to the local Hospital Trust or Clinical Commissioning Group (which makes decisions for local healthcare services) for funding to pay for the scanner so that it is free for NHS patients. Ask your GP or hospital consultant for more details.
