What’s the best way to tackle joint pain?

“Regular, gentle exercise such as walking, swimming and yoga can help to keep your joints and the supporting muscles and ligaments strong and supple which in turn could help to ease joint pain,” says consultant rheumatologist Dr Rod Hughes.

“It’s important not to overdo exercise, but gentle activities are really beneficial.

“Taking painkillers such as paracetamol can have side-effects, so look into alternative options for managing pain. Research has shown that galactolipid GOPO®, which is derived from rosehips, could help to reduce arthritis joint pain significantly and could even help reduce consumption of paracetamol by 40 per cent. GOPO® has anti-inflammatory properties which have a protective effect on cartilage, potentially even helping cartilage and joint tissues to regenerate.”Try GOPO® Joint Health (£18.99/120 capsules) available from health stores.
