How to ditch the plastic!
It’s easier than you think to store food completely plastic free!
Wrap fresh bread in cloth, or an old pillowcase and store in a wooden bread bin
Use beeswax wraps to cover tins and bowls or wrap up sandwiches. These natural and reusable wraps act just like cling film and tin foil, but are far more environmentally friendly. Prices start from £10
Use steel and tempered glass pots, as they freeze just as well as plastic ones
Store onions and potatoes in a basket and place somewhere dark
Stand celery sticks in a glass of water and float carrots in a large sealed glass jar filled with water
Wrap green beans and peas in a damp cloth and place in the fridge
