RIBBON WRAP

Update a tired lampshade with just a pretty ribbon!

Time: 40 mins Skill: Beginner MATERIALS:

A pretty patterned or detailed roll of ribbon Glue gun An old lampshade Pom-pom trim

1. Cut a long length of the ribbon. Dab a tiny bit of glue on the inside of the lampshade, on the rim.

2. Start by wrapping the ribbon around the lampshade, overlapping the lengths as you go. The shorter the ribbon the easier it will be, as you’re less likely to get tangled, so keep joining in new lengths. When you reach the end of each length, glue it down, just as you did at the start. Always try to hide the joins by gluing the next length of ribbon directly on top of the previous one.

3. Measure out the length of pompom trim you need and glue it on with a glue gun. If you don’t have a glue gun, use a clear-drying Super Glue instead. Stick it down bit by bit around the bottom of the shade.
