Welcome ...

I’ve just returned from a lovely weekend in Edinburgh. We managed to catch three shows in the last few days of the Fringe Festival and got a sense of the huge scale of the Edinburgh Tattoo. Many of the massed bands were staying at the same hotel as us so we were surrounded by kilts, drums and bagpipes for our entire stay.

I confess I’m generally not very adventurous or particularly well travelled. A few days city break is my ideal kind of holiday but I do have a few ‘bucket list’ locations I would love to visit at some point. It may be a bit clichéd but New England in the autumn and the Northern Lights in Norway have to be top of my wish list, but equally I’d love to explore the north west of Scotland or the Channel Islands.
