Blackbird surprise
✒If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I would never have believed it. For a couple of years we have been feeding green grapes to a pair of blackbirds which sit on the handrail at our back door several times a day. They even bring their fledglings when they have them. Looking out recently, one was eating something red. I thought it was a strawberry from someone else’s garden, but, no, it was one of our cherry tomatoes. I’d left about eight to pick but only two remained. I never knew blackbirds ate tomatoes. Does anyone else have any strange goings on with wildlife in their garden?

Daff delight
I wanted to share with you the lovely crochet daffodils my dear friend Christina made me. Isn’t she clever?

Taking the plunge!
When I turned 50 I wanted to try something challenging so enrolled on a scuba diving course at my local swimming pool. The first lesson was a disaster but I persevered and two months later, passed all my exams. I was ready for open water training and headed for the Sinai desert.
I’d opted to train at a dive centre in Egypt before heading with a group to the Red Sea. I’ll never forget kneeling on the sandy bottom of the Red Sea while fish I’d only ever seen in an aquarium swam around me.
I quickly grew more
confident and even did a night dive followed by a dive with just a ‘buddy’ at my side, which was a fabulous experience.
That was 18 years ago. Since then I’ve dived with stingrays in the Cayman Islands, manta rays in the Maldives and even a cage dive to see the great white sharks in South Africa! A Rowe,
