Eat mindfully

-

Taking the time to notice and enjoy every mouthful makes you feel more satisfied. Here are WW’s top tips for mastering mindful eating:

Avoid distractions. Tune in to eating; put away your phone or laptop and turn off the TV.

Take a seat. Standing or walking while eating can be a recipe for overeating, because you’re likely to be focused on doing something else. Sit down at a table and savour your food.

Use a plate. Take the time to serve yourself and maybe even snap a photo of your plate. One study found it can help people eat more attentively and find pleasure in the experience!

Enjoy it! Focus on and linger over your meal, the atmosphere and conversations with loved ones.

When life is busy, fitting more activity into your daily schedule is key so try these tips for moving more:

Add a small, doable activity to your day such as taking the stairs, parking further away from the shops, or jogging on the spot during TV breaks.

Make the most of the weekend by fitting in activity then. Take a long family walk, go for a bike ride with the grandchildren, or go to a swimming class.

Make fitness a fun time – go bowling instead of the cinema or choose badminton over going to the pub for a drink.

FitPoints is Weight Watchers’ unique way of measuring the amount of activity you do. Use FitPoints to help you set goals, watch your activity levels rise and if you want to, add extra flexibility to your eating by adding them into your SmartPoints budget. You’ll feel the difference in your energy levels as well as your weight levels.
