High blood pressure is one of the biggest risk factors for heart disease – you won’t know you have it unless you get it checked because it has no symptoms. An ideal reading is between 90/60 and 120/80. A reading between 120/80 and 140/90 means your pressure is a little bit raised and you should take steps to lower it. If your blood pressure is more than 140/90 you have high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, and should see your GP for advice.
