Old detective novels the best

YOURS (UK) - - Your Letters -

✒ I am going back to reading detective novels by authors such as Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh and Josephine Tey. Why? Because Modern detective novels are full of four-letter words. In a crime novel I have just finished, there were four or five on each page. We have a rich language, so surely crime writers can find enough words without resorting to using swear words all the time. What do other readers think?
