Charity waste

YOURS (UK) - - Your Letters -

I recently received a package in the post from the Red Cross which included six notelets and envelopes, two bookmarks, a sheet of name and address labels, and a pen and lapel pin, along with a letter asking for a donation.

I didn’t order any of these items and, on discussing it with my neighbours, found they’d also received a similar package. Just how much charity money was spent on not only producing these items in their thousands, but also the postage cost? The major charities are always appealing for more funds, but if this is the way they waste their donated money then it’s not surprising a lot of people will think twice before handing over their hard-earned cash.
