Q

I’ve made a New Year resolution to get fit. I’d rather go with cheaper trainers and clothing, do I really need to splash out?

Sue McKnight, Doncaster Yours says: The high street is full of affordable fitness wear – particularly at this time of year when everyone is keen to work off those mince pies! Cheaper ranges from the likes of Matalan, Tesco and Asda include tops and trousers with clever quick-dry technology to keep you comfortable and cool. You’ll find perfectly good trainers in the same high-street shops which are fine for light exercise. As your fitness improves you might need to invest in a higher-quality footwear – particularly if you start running – but it’ll be worth the investment.

Suzi wears: 2-in-1 top, £10, s-xl | leggings, £14, 8-18 | trainers, £16, 3-8, all Matalan
