CRO­CHET COF­FEE POT

A fun and easy project to keep the cof­fee in your pot hot­ter for longer

Ma­te­ri­als:

Rooster Almerino Aran (50% baby al­paca, 50% merino wool)

1 x 50g ball each of:

305 Cus­tard

310 Rooster

307 Brighton Rock

309 Ocean

302 Sug­ared Al­mond

303 Straw­berry Cream

308 Spiced Plum

5mm (size 6) cro­chet hook Yarn sewing nee­dle

1 small but­ton

Ab­bre­vi­a­tions: c-chain; dc­dou­ble cro­chet, rep-re­peat; RS-right side; ss-slip stitch; st(s)stitch(es); WS- wrong side

Fin­ished mea­sure­ment: To fit a medium-size 4-6 cup cafetière, ap­prox 31cm (12in) cir­cum­fer­ence

Ten­sion 16dc x 20 rows over 10cm (4in) square, us­ing 5mm (size 6) hook.

Method: Us­ing any colour, make 46ch.

Row 1: 1dc into next ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end, turn. (45 sts)

Row 2: 1ch, 1dc into each st to end. Rep Row 2, chang­ing colours randomly ev­ery 2, 3 or 4 rows, un­til

work mea­sures 16cm (6¼in), or to just above han­dle of cafetière.

Do not fas­ten off. Make but­ton­hole and but­ton tab: Make 5ch, 1dc into next ch from hook, 1dc into each st to end, turn.

Next row: 1dc into each st to last 4 sts, make 2ch, miss 2 sts, 1dc into each of next 2 sts.

Next row: 1ch, 1dc into each of next 2 sts, 2dc into next ch sp, 1dc into each st to end. Next row: 1dc into each st to end. Do not fas­ten off. Work dc around but­ton tab by mak­ing 2dc around side, 1dc in each of the sts un­der­neath to end. Make ss into straight edge.

Fas­ten off.

To make up:

With WS fac­ing, sew a seam 2.5cm (1in) up from the bot­tom, leav­ing the re­main­der open. Turn RS out. Sew a but­ton to cor­re­spond with but­ton­hole. Sew in ends.
