YOURS (UK) - - Good To Know -

The Competition and Markets Authority has written to all care home providers telling them to make sure they’re clear about things such costs and charges and to make sure they treat residents fairly both before and after they’ve moved in. If you have a relative who’s in a care home and you don’t think they’re being treated fairly, they have the same rights whether they fund their own care or the state pays. If the care home won’t deal with your complaint, you should contact your local Citizens Advice. It’s also worth getting in touch with the Care Quallity Commission (or its equivalent in Scotland and Northern Ireland) as they are responsible for monitoring standards of care.
