Made to last

-

After a recent story in Yours about kitchen gadgets not being made to last we asked you to tell us about your gadgets that have stood the test of time. Here are just a few of your letters and emails. Sadly we didn’t have room to include them all…

I have a Kenwood mixer in full working order that was a wedding present 54 years ago. I use it at least twice a week and it has never let me down in all this time.

Christine Sleath, by email

The oldest gadget in my kitchen is my Sanyo Digitouch microwave which my late father gave me for Christmas in 1987. I have used it every single day for the last 31 years and at this rate, it may outlive me! Janice Goodwin, Derby

My husband and I bought a Hoover fridge when we got engaged 55 years ago and it is still in good working order. Carol Mycock, The Wirral

Here is a photo of my Moulinex electric whisk which I bought in the early Eighties and still regularly use today. Norma Postin, Rugby

Back in 1971 I got a Prestige pressure cooker which I still use today. Mrs Dinsdale,

Tyne and Wear

I have a Kenwood chef in working order bought in 1974. I also have the liquidiser attachment, the dough hook and the instruction and recipe book (edition no.13) that came with the machine.

It is still in working order although it is now telling its age.
