Rnd 4: (2 dc, 2 dc in next st) 6 times. 24 sts.

Rnd 13: (3 dc, dec2tog) 3 times. 12 sts.

Rnd 14: 12 dc.

Rnd 15: (2 dc, dec2tog) 3 times. 9 sts.

Rnd 16: 9 dc.

Fasten off leaving a long thread to sew wings to body.

FEET (MAKE 2)

Using orange, 2 ch.

Rnd 1: 7 dc in 2nd ch from hook. 7 sts.

Rnd 2: 2 dc in each st around. 14 sts.

Rnds 3-7: 14 dc.

Rnd 8: 8 dc, (MB, 1 dc) 3 times. Fasten off leaving a long thread to sew feet together.

HAT

Using sky blue, 13 ch.

Row 1: 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in each st to end, turn. 12 sts.

Row 2–24: 1 ch, 12 dc in BLO, turn.

Fasten off. Sew short edges together joining row 1 to 24. Gather the top of the hat together and fold up bottom edge.

Make a 3.5 cm pompom in safron and sew to top of hat.

FINISHING

Attach eyes to head between rnds 11 and 12 and 10 sts apart. Stuff head. Sew head cap on to head. Flatten beak and sew to head. Stuff body and sew to head. Flatten wings and sew to body. Flatten feet, sew opening closed across top of feet and sew on to front of body. Sew hat to head slightly to one side.

Weave in ends.
